MAKING COCKTAILS WITH LOVE
Tea infusions are a fun and easy way to introduce complex flavors into your favorite cocktails. Expecially on Valentine’s Day when you are looking to add an extra dash of love for that special someone. This Valentine’s Day we partnered with Smith Teamaker out of Portland, Oregon, to create a cocktail with their limited-edition Valentine’s Day blend Lover’s Leap-a delicate, fragrant marriage of high grown black ceylon tea from The Lover’s Leap Estate, coupled with pink rose petals, hand-sorted chamomile petals and subtle citrus flavors.
HOW INFUSING WITH TEA WORKS:
Take 4 bags of tea for a 750ml bottle and allow the tea to steep for 2 hrs and voila!
WHISKEY LOVES YOU
2 oz Lover’s Lep infused Whiskey
0.5 oz Maraschino liqueur
1 dash Absinthe
1 dash Peychaud’s bitters
Combine all ingredients into an ice-filled mixing glass and stir for 6-10 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass over 2x2 ice cube. Garnish with a lemon twist and a light pinch of Lover’s Leap (optional).
A new rooftop restaurant at Platform in Culver City, Margot is a romance starter with great outdoor fireside cocktail lounge where you can watch expo line trains pull into the station as the sun goes down. The space is a mix of California chic and outright rooftop decadence, with views that spill out over the western side of LA. There aren’t many great places to sit on a roof with a great view on the westside, and this is definitely the place to do it. The impressive cocktail program was created by David Kupchinsky. In addition to four different takes on the classic Gin and Tonic, you can also find an array of frozen slushy drinks, one of them being gorgeous Negroni Painkiller which is a great go to if your date turns sour.
